MR. NGUYEN TRUNG NAM BEING ARBITRATOR FOR HCMULAW MOOT COURT COMPETITION 2016

Mr. Nguyen Trung Nam – Managing Director of EPLegal is one of three arbitrators in HCMULaw Moot Court Competion 2016.

 

 

Moot Court Competition is an annual extracurricular activities for law students organized by Law University of Ho Chi Minh City. Participating in the competition, mooters will prepare an memorial for both claimant and respondent to argue before the arbitrators. Especially, what makes the uniqueness of the Moot Court Competition is that the mooters must research, shape and create their own arguments and reasoning in the most convincing way. Through moot court competition, law students not only broaden their legal knowlegde but also develop important working skills. Now, moot court is an essential activity in education program of a number of law university worldwide.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Nam has been arbitrator for all three rounds of the Competion: Quarter-final Round, Semi-final Round and final Round, and together with other arbitrator carefully evaluated to determine the winner of the Competition

 
EPLEGAL ATTENDING THE SEMINAR “THE APPLICATION OF UNITED NATIONS CONVENTION ON CONTRACTS FOR THE INTERNATIONAL SALE OF GOODS IN PRACTICE-_ LESSONS LEARNED FOR VIETNAM”

 

On 20th January 2016, Nguyen Trung Nam Lawyer and some members of EPLegal attended the seminar “ The application of united nations convention on contracts for the international sale of goods in practice _Lessons learned for Vietnam” being held by Ho Chi Minh City Law University.

In the context of Vietnam having just become a member of United Nation Convention on Contracts for the international sale of goods (“Vienna Convention” or “CISG”), in line with the potential broad scope of the application of this Convention on trade activities in Vietnam, it is extremely necessary to organize research seminars on Vienna Convention. The seminar consists two sessions:

-          In the first session, Dr. Le Thi Anh Nguyet- Head of International Commerce Department – gave a speech to open the seminar. After that, rapporteurs presented research papers regarding overviews on, scope of application of and practical application in a number of countries.

-          The second session focus deep into the researches, papers on specific aspects of Vienna Convention, including: Nachfrist Notice, compensation for damage  caused by breach of contract, compensation for non-material damage and the practice of applying Vienna Convention by Vietnamese court and VIAC.

The seminar aims at sharing the information and enables the cooperation of researching on CISG, with the participation of the lecturers, students from Ho Chi Minh City Law University and EPLegal Limited.

 
EPLEGAL LAW FIRM ATTENDING THE SYMPOSIUM: “VIETNAM COMMERCIAL LAW IN GLOBAL INTEGRATION CONTEXT”

 

 

On 7th January 2015, Law Faculty of Ho Chi Minh City Law University cooperated with Law Faculty of University of West of England to organize an academic exchange with the thread: “Vietnamese commercial law in global integration context”. Nguyen Trung Nam lawyer representing EPLegal contributed to the symposium by the paper: “Legal framework for Oil & Gas activities in Vietnam”.

The symposium talked about the matters concerning Vietnamese commercial laws branches that play a important role in market opening, reinforce foreign investment activities, the Vietnamese law’s adaptation to WTO laws and the Trans-Pacific Partnership’s commitments; and Vietnamese intellectual property laws in global integration context and global economics activities.

The above-mentioned academic exchange activities is a valuable opportunity for researchers, lecturers and students to exchange their researches as well as discuss legal issues in order to enhance their knowledge of laws and make contributions to the improvement of Vietnamese legal regulations in the context of international economics integration.

 
Round-table conference between local government and consulting companies

altOn April 10, 2014, EPLegal took part in a round-table conference between local government and consulting companies, organized by Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) on the instruction of Ho Chi Minh city People's Committee.
